Manager Marco Bielsa raised a few eyebrows with his choice of post-game food when he got the munchies having watched Leeds United play out a 1-1 draw with National League North side York City in our midweek friendly.
Having travelled back from the game separately from the squad as they went their separate ways ‘did anyone buy him a Mcflurry’ became a thing on social media as fans reacted to seeing the gaffer stroll into a McDonald’s on his way home.
In some ways the reactions were perfectly plausible – some commented ‘it’s apparent he eats food’, others made cracks about how he had more success targetting their 99p menu than we’ve had in the transfer market so far this summer and ‘he eats what he wants’ is definitely going to be sung at Elland Road this season I would think.
It’s safe to say it was a little bit random and it proves management staff don’t share their nutritional requirements of players these days, but I think we kind of guessed that anyway.

Great stuff but doubt he would condone the players nipping in for a Big Mac as he tries to get em fit. What did he eat?

He apparently didn’t go in when he saw the crowd and went for a sandwich instead, but let’s not let facts get in the way of a damn good series of jokes. If he wants to celebrate after a draw with a Maccies, what’s he going to do when we win? KFC? Cheeky Nandos? Pub?
