Talented Leeds United winger secures swift exit from Elland Road

Leeds United winger Hadi Sacko has left Elland Road and signed for Ankaragucu on loan, the Turkish Super Lig side have confirmed.

The 24-year-old had planned on spending the 2018/19 season with UD Las Palmas, but his deal with the La Liga 2 outfit was cut short on January 25 following discussions between Leeds, Sacko and the Spanish side.

Rather than sticking around at Elland Road to make up the numbers, the Whites swiftly arranged for his next adventure, joining Ankaragucu in the Turkish top-flight for the remainder of the season.

The Mali international will now link up with Mustafa Kaplan’s Ankaragucu side, who are currently two points above the relegation zone having won six of their 19 league games, scoring just 17 goals.

Sacko originally joined the Whites from Sporting CP on loan in July 2016, before Leeds made the deal permanent a year later.

In his debut season at Elland Road, the former French youth international notched two goals and four assists in 38 Championship outings, but dropped down the pecking order once the permanent deal was arranged.
