Leeds Word On The Tweet

‘Surely not’, ‘We already knew’ – These Leeds fans react to news regarding upcoming game

|

Over the course of last season, Leeds United were picked as the main game on Sky Sports 24 times. It’s something that comes with the territory of both being exciting to watch and being such a big team in the second tier.

And in news that will come as a shock to nobody, Leeds’ first-round Carabao Cup tie away to newly-promoted Salford City has been selected for coverage on Sky Sports.

This was always likely going to be the case, given the high profile nature of both Salford City and their connection with Manchester United’s ‘Class of 92’ and Leeds United arguably being the biggest club in the EFL. The Manchester United v Leeds angle only gained more momentum when former Red Gary Neville decided to pipe up on Twitter over the prospect of facing Leeds.

Not that this really changes anything, as the tie was likely always going to take place on the Tuesday, so this isn’t your typical Sky Sports change that affects the kick-off time.

However, a lot of Leeds United fans still had plenty to say over the matter. Having been on TV so much last season, and then starting off this season with two of their first three games being shown on Sky as well, Leeds fans think that the broadcasters are becoming somewhat obsessed with them.
