It’s funny how the Carabao Cup draw played out isn’t it? Two of the biggest names, for differing reasons, were drawn against each other. Salford City for their connections with the Manchester United ‘Class of 92’ and Leeds United after their dramatic rise and fall and perceived big status among English clubs. It’s that Manchester United connection, though, that makes this game such an enticing one.
The rivalry between the Red Devils and the Whites might not be up there when it comes to Man Utd fans priority list, with a 2013 survey reporting that Man United fans list the games with Liverpool, Man City and Arsenal ahead of the War of the Roses, but Leeds fans still see the Old Trafford natives as their biggest rival.
All too aware of the hatred that comes with playing for the Lancashire side, Gary Neville decided to pop up and mention how long it had been since he’s played against the Elland Road natives, referencing how long they had been out of the Premier League. However, there were a lot of fans there to remind him that his maths might have been slightly off the mark.
Welcome back into my life Leeds United . Not seen you for 15 years ????????♂️ https://t.co/FIV6IM33du

Many fans latched onto the tweet by mentioning one of Leeds’ most famous victories, the 1-0 victory at Old Trafford in the FA Cup back in 2010, which Neville himself just happened to play in.
