Lots of fans of other clubs have been taking part in a rather heated debate over some comments made by a Leeds United fan.
Well this certainly has caused a little bit of a ruckus hasn’t it? I wonder if he knew his comments were going to cause all this when he said them.
A Leeds United was taking part in talkSPORT’s ‘The Sports Bar’ the other day, and he came out with some rather interesting comments regarding the end of the season and how he’d like to see it played out.
With Leeds United in the driving seat when it comes to promotion but with the prospect of the season being finished behind closed doors, the fan said that he would rather stay in the Championship for another season than not have the opportunity to see them clinch promotion in person.
What would you rather in this scenario?
Season finishes behind closed doors
Another Championship season
And plenty of fans of other clubs jumped in on the argument, with the majority of them agreeing and jumping on the mantra that ‘football without fans is nothing’.
armchair fans would be happy, he is talking like someone who goes to games and them fans would wanna be there to see it! Not even a bus parade with a trophy would take place. What true fan would want their team to win any trophy behind closed doors??!!

Someone speaking sense. Football is about the fans not the media. Football thrived before TV. What’s the point in great moments like promotion if the fans can’t be part of it?!

Chris is spot on, Goldstein once again forgetting about what the game is really about, it’s the heart, soul and togetherness that most true fans love. Getting promotion via committee is akin to getting a £10 tax rebate in the post

I absolutely agree with the Leeds fan….if we can’t watch It I would rather do it all again next season in the championship

This will have stunned no proper football fans. What’s the point in continuing the season of no ones there to enjoy it. If it’s a choice between going up and not seeing it or not going up. The second one wins everytime !!!

Fair play! True fan… not just about status. Wants to celebrate a promotion with the fans! Nothing better! Point well made 👏#htafc fan me who knows #lufc should be in Prem with the following they have! Best memories ever tanked up celebrating town going up with me mates 😍

Just goes to show that even when there’s no football on, there’s always something for fans to get riled up about.
