Many Leeds United fans heaped praise on midfielder Kalvin Phillips following his side’s 3-0 victory against Fulham on Saturday.
The victory saw them jump back to the top of the Championship after West Bromwich Albion lost to Brentford 1-0 on Friday.
Patrick Bamford, Ezgjan Alioski and Jack Harrison scored all three goals, behind closed doors, that saw Marcelo Bielsa’s side return to the summit and edged closer to their long-awaited return to the Premier League for the first time since 2004.
Was Kalvin Phillips one of Leeds' best players vs Fulham?
Yes
No
Phillips caught the eye of the Elland Road faithful in what was an underappreciated, hard-working display from the 24-year-old, and won 10 duels, made six tackles, completed six long balls and accumulated a pass success rate of 82%, as per Sofascore.
Because of this, supporters were full of praise for Phillips and made their feelings clear on social media. One fan said that he “showed another side to his game”, while another described him as “massively underrated”.
TC being shutdown was good for us. KP worked hard. I think he had to do double duty as TC being canceled out opened up Harrison Reed who was bossing their attacks for a bit.

This. Philips showed another side to his game you don’t always have to be aggressive or playing worldly passes you do your job for the team. https://t.co/GA9Y9hjsaN
