Many Leeds United fans have been showing no sympathy towards Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic after it was revealed that the FA will be looking to impose a ban.
According to The Telegraph, the Serbian strike will be severely punished by the football governing body following his unprovoked elbow on the Whites’ defender Ben White after just 87 seconds of their 3-0 victory on Saturday.
The report adds that they will take into account previous incidents that he was involved in, such as his elbow on West Ham United’s Manuel Lanzini back in 2017.
Should Aleksandar Mitrovic more than a three-game ban for his elbow?
Yes
No
Although the Cottagers’ Neeskens Kebano was sent off during second-half injury time, Patrick Bamford, Ezgjan Alioski and Jack Harrison scored to send Leeds back to the top of the Championship.
Unsurprisingly, supporters were complimentary towards the FA for opting to take swift action and made their feelings clear on social media. One fan said that there is no place for Mitrovic’s acts in the game, while another stated that he deserves all of the punishments that he gets, having done similar previously.
Good. No place for it. Genuinely, if you did that in the street, it would be classed as assault.
