According to reports in Poland, Mateusz Klich could be set to stay at Leeds United.

Meczyki via Twitter has reported that Leeds United midfielder Mateusz Klich’s future could still be in the Premier League. It appears the Polish midfielder could be set to stay at Elland Road after an apparent U-Turn on his future. It is believed talks took place on Saturday after the 2-1 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers, and coach Jesse Marsch is believed to have given Klich the news that he is indeed still needed at the club.
Marsch has always made it clear how much he values ‘Klicky’ but it looked like he would have to settle for being a squad member. It appeared that the player wanted the move away to gain first-team football and to give him the best chance of a World Cup selection, and it seemed like a move to FC Utrecht was on the cards but in an apparent 180 turn, the Polish International is set to remain at Leeds for the time being.

The translation of the tweet is as follows: Włodarczyk: Klich presented himself well in the Leeds – Wolves match and after this match his situation changed by 180 degrees. The Pole had a conversation with Marsch, during which he heard that he is needed at the club at the moment and there is no consent for the transfer.

Mateusz Klich was an integral part of the side that won promotion from the Championship, and is seen by many, as an important, experienced squad member. When he came on against Wolves, his experience in calming the game’s frantic nature and his ease of passing made it apparent he is still a vital member of the Leeds team. It remains to be seen if he will be used as an impact substitute from now on, or if Marsch has given him assurances that he will be a first-team regular. Either way, he will have the World Cup on his mind in any future decisions.

What do fans think, should Klich be given more first-team football, or is it the right time to let him leave? Let us know in the comments.
