Leeds United are set to extend Jack Harrison’s loan from Manchester City for another season, the club’s Director of Football Victor Orta has confirmed.

Harrison first joined Leeds on a season-long loan back in the summer of 2018, a deal that was then extended for this season last summer.

Now it seems as though the same is set to happen for again, as Leeds prepare for their long-awaited return to the Premier League next season.

Speaking to Spanish Radio Station Radio Marca, Orta said: “A key player has been Jack Harrison, who will continue one more year with us in the Premier League.

“We have reached an agreement with City and we will continue to do so on loan next season.”

Are you happy with another loan deal for Harrison?

Yes

No, wanted him permanently

No, wanted him permanently

No, didn't want him back

Since he first made the move to Elland Road, Harrison has made a total of 89 appearances in all competitions for the club, which includes featuring in all of Leeds’ 44 league games so far in the Championship title-winning season.

The winger has found the net ten times for Leeds during his time at the club, and is currently valued at around £4.7million by Transfermarkt, meaning this could be a shrewd move for Leeds.

Having shown a significant improvement from last season in the current campaign, Harisson could certainly be a valuable asset for the Whites on their return to the top-flight next season.

This also helps to run down his contract at City – which is set to expire in the summer of 2022 – by a further year, which could help reduce the price Leeds have to pay for the winger, should they eventually decide to attempt to make his move to Elland Road permanent at some point in the future.

It will of course also continue the transfer link between Leeds and City that has been formed over the past few years, and being connected to a side such as them can only be a good thing for Bielsa’s side, as they look to re-establish themselves in the top-flight after so long away.
