Udinese midfielder Rodrigo De Paul has his heart set on a move to Leeds United following the contract offer that has been made to him by the Elland Road club, a report from Italian outlet Messaggero Veneto has claimed.

De Paul has seemingly emerged as a key target for Leeds this summer as they look to add a new number ten to their side following promotion to the Premier League at the end of last season, and it seems they are going all out to convince the Argentine to make the move to Yorkshire.

According to the latest reports, Leeds have offered De Paul a four-year contract at Elland Road, worth around €4million per year.

However, it seems as though the Whites still have some work to do to get their man, with Udinese owner Gino Pozzo said to be holding out for €40million, despite De Paul’s desire to complete this transfer.

It is thought that Leeds latest offer of €25million plus addons is not enough to interest Pozzo, while Russian outfit Zenit St. Petersburg have reportedly bid €35million for the Argentine international.

You do feel as things could slowly be moving in Leeds’ favour here, even is there is still much to be agreed on.

Having successfully gone all out with their offer to De Paul himself, you feel there is also the chance they will do the same in their negotiations with Udinese, and once that happens, it seems closing a deal with De Paul should not take all that long.

That being said, the clock is ticking on transfer window, and that offer may have to go in sooner rather than later, lest another club jump ahead of the Whites in the queue to sign the midfielder.
