Lazio are no longer looking to sell rumoured Leeds target Jordan Lukaku, according to a report from TuttoMercatoWeb.

It has recently been suggested by Italian outlet Il Messagerro that Leeds, along with Premier League rivals Brighton, had made an offer of €5million for the left-back.

However, it now seems as though Leeds will be left disappointed in any pursuit of the 26-year-old, with the latest reports claiming that Lukaku is no longer being considered for a sale this summer.

It is thought that is due to the fact that the defender has impressed Lazio boss Simone Inzaghi in with his work rate in training as he looks to force his way back into the first-team, having lost eight kilograms to reach the best physical condition of his career so far.

As a result, it is now understood that Lazio will not be selling Lukaku this summer unless an offer comes in that they cannot refuse, and with two years remaining on his contract, they would be in a decent position to negotiate any potential bids.

Given the fact that Lukaku’s top-flight experience could have made him a useful addition for Leeds had they signed him, this may be slightly disappointing for those associated with the club.

However, considering they are already reasonably well-stocked at left-back with the likes of Stuart Dallas, Ezgjan Alioski and Barry Douglas, they are at least more than equipped enough to cope with missing out on the Belgian.

Indeed, with other, seemingly more important transfer pursuits ongoing, it does make more sense to put the money that might have gone on Lukaku, into improving their offer for someone such as Rodrigo De Paul.
