Report: Leeds preparing fresh bid in pursuit of Bielsa favourite

|

Leeds are set to make an improved offer to Rangers in their attempts to sign winger Ryan Kent, a report from The Sun has claimed.

Manager Marcelo Bielsa has already tried to bring Kent to Elland Road twice before during his time at Leeds, and it was recently reported that the Championship title winners were set to make a £10million bid for the attacker.

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has already confirmed that that offer has been rejected, although it seems that has not deterred Leeds too much in their pursuit of the 23-year-old.

According to the latest reports, Leeds are set to up their offer for Kent to £14million, as they look to secure the services of the former Liverpool man ahead of their return to the Premier League – which starts with a trip to Anfield – next month.

As well as improving their offer to Rangers, it also seems there could be some incentive for Kent to push for this move, with Leeds apparently set to double his wages should he make the move to Elland Road.

There are currently three years remaining on Kent’s contract with Rangers, putting the Scottish club in a strong position to negotiate any offers that come in for the winger.

Even so, there will get a point where Rangers may be tempted to accept an offer for Kent, with the type of offers Leeds have been credited with this summer suggesting they can go higher than this if they want to.

On the flip side to that however, Leeds are not going to want to over-pay for a player who has previously been somewhat inconsistent during his time in English football, meaning it will be interesting to see just how much they are ultimately willing to offer fr Kent this summer.
