Huddersfield Town are keen to sign Leeds United duo Robbie Gotts and Pascal Stuijk on loan, a report from a print edition of The Sun (23/08, p61) has claimed.

Having left his role as Leeds’ Under 23s coach to take over at the Terriers earlier this summer, it now looks as though Carlos Corberan is set to raid his former club as he looks to strengthen his new side ahead of the coming campaign.

According to the latest reports, Gotts is close to having his temporary move to the John Smith’s Stadium for next season confirmed, with Struijk now also emerging as a target for the Terriers.

Both players are graduates of the Leeds academy, with both players making their senior debuts for the club during the course of the 2019/20 season.

As things stand, the pair both have two years remaining on their current contracts with Leeds, securing their futures at Elland Road until the end of the 2021/22 season.

This therefore looks as though it could be a decent agreement for Leeds to secure for these two players going forward.

With both players tied to Leeds for the time being, sending the duo out on loan ought to give both Gotts and Struijk the regular football they need to develop their abilities even further, and the club’s connections with Corberan mean they should be confident the pair will be well looked after at Huddersfield.

That being said, with Leeds yet to really get going when it comes to bringing in new signings for their first-team ahead of their Premier League return, you feel that they may want to wait before confirming these temporary departures for the time being, to make sure they do not leave themselves too short on numbers come the start of the campaign.
