With continuing speculation about the future of former Real Madrid goalkeeper Kiko Casilla following his ban from football activities, Leeds United are being linked with a possible move for another young stopper in the shape of Atlanta talent, Marco Carnesecchi.

Having seen Bailey Peacock-Farrell move on last summer, Leeds United also appear to be weighing up the future of young stopper Kamil Miazek with talk of Rangers circling his signature – and manager Marcelo Bielsa, ahead of the pause in the fixture list, did appear to prefer Illan Meslier and Elia Caprile as back up to Kiko Casilla when he was ruled out.

Italian outlet TuttoB have recently cast further doubt on Miazek’s future, by suggesting 19-year-old Carnesecchi could be out next capture.

The Italian youngster is yet to debut for his parent club, but he has been out on loan in 2019/20 with Serie B side Trapani, keeping two clean sheets in 24 games as they languish in 18th place in the division.

On the face of things he doesn’t sound like someone we’d be tracking in fairness, but the report implies we’ve been impressed with his performances regardless of their struggles, and also that Arsenal are keeping tabs on the Under 21 international.

Fellow outlet SerieBNews also somewhat bizarrely claim a valuation of £10.6million, so whilst he might be a name to look out for, I really can’t see this anything in this one.

Given we have a built in permanent clause on Meslier, I really don’t believe we’ll spend £10million on an unproven Kiko replacement.
