It’s been reported this week that Leeds United’s Victor Orta has got his eye on Reading midfielder John Swift.
The 23-year-old versatile midfielder has 36 appearances in total for the Madejski Stadium outfit, with 30 of those games being starting appearances and in that time across the campaign of 2018/19 he’s contributed four goals and three assists.
According to a recent claim by Football Insider they suggest that we are planning a potential £7million bid for the player come the summer given his ongoing development in the second tier of the English game.
It’s purely a source led piece, with little concrete information that you can hang your hat on, so I guess the expectation is with Swift being a former England Under 21 international, it’s about the further development curve we may possibly see in him.
I guess it helps he came through Chelsea’s youth ranks as a hook and given he’s played most games in an advanced midfield role, I assume there are Samu Saiz connotations.
One to maybe watch and see if anything comes of it.
