Leeds suffered a loss last night in the Carabao Cup but at least it perhaps isn’t the most important competition of all.
It’s always nice to go on a cup run but we must prioritise the league especially with how thin our squad is.
And, with that in mind, it looks as though we’ve got some mixed news injury wise after the game.
Indeed, Phil Hay posted this from Bielsa’s post-match comments concerning a few of our players:
Bielsa says he replaced Shaughnessy at half-time because he wanted to get more offensive players on the pitch against 10 men. Shackleton had an injury and couldn't continue. Pearce took a heavy kick to one leg but should be okay. #lufc

Pearce at least should be okay for the Middlesbrough game if needed but it looks as though Shackleton could be touch and go.
Meanwhile, Shaughnessy had a poor game and was hooked at the break so it remains to be seen when he next gets a chance to play.
It wasn’t the most successful night, then, but hopefully we’ll be back firing on cylinders come the Middlesbrough match at the end of the week.
