Leeds United not only got the win against Swansea that moved Marcelo Bielsa’s men back to the top of the Championship table, but the official club Twitter account rubbed some more salt into the Swans’ wounds and fans absolutely loved it.
Wednesday night’s clash at Elland Road was the first between Leeds and Swansea since the Welsh outfit pulled the plug on Daniel James’ loan-to-buy Deadline Day transfer at the last minute.
It meant Bielsa missed out on his top January target and only managed to add Kiko Casilla to his first-team roster, while Mateusz Bogusz moved to Yorkshire to join up with the U23s.
There was no chance whatsoever, though, that Leeds were going to pass up the chance to remind Swansea of their Deadline Day behaviour, but waited until the result was sealed to do the deal.
Tweeting after the full-time whistle, the official United account posted: “No answer from Swansea again, as #LUFC dial in a winning performance.”
Fans absolutely loved the social media admin’s post judging by these replies…
