 Leeds have played just ten games on this day during their history.

On this day in 2010, Leeds kept up their push for promotion from League One with a 4-1 win over Milton Keynes Dons. The Dons finished the game with eight men after having three players sent off by young referee Michael Oliver.

MK Dons had Matthias Doumbe sent off just before half time and he was followed by David McCracken and Peter Leven in the final ten minutes of the game.

It was a crucial win for Leeds in their penultimate home game of the League One season as goals from substitute Jermaine Beckford (2), Luciano Becchio and Max Gradel kept Leeds in the automatic promotion places with just two games remaining of the season.

Striker Mick Jones was born on this day in 1945. Jones scored 111 goals in 313 appearances for Leeds between 1967 and 1974 and he was a key member of Don Revie’s squad that won two league titles, the Fa Cup and League Cup as well as the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup on two occasions.
