Leeds United gave an injury update on Adam Forshaw ahead of Saturday’s meeting with Queens Park Rangers, revealing the 28-year-old is not ready to return.

Forshaw suffered a recurrence of a hip injury in October and still hasn’t recovered. He’s made just one Championship appearance for Leeds since August, missing seven league games in the last two months.

Without Forshaw in midfield, Marcelo Bielsa will turn to Kalvin Phillips and Mateusz Klich. Jamie Shackleton could be in contention of featuring as he’s fit and available for selection too.

Leeds have missed Forshaw. In the seven league games he’s been absent for, Bielsa’s men have won only three. The Whites won in four of Forshaw’s first six appearances before injury struck.

Leeds desperately need a result against QPR too. They’re currently third in the table with 25 points from 14 games, but have failed to win three of their last four.

United are more convincing on home soil, however, boasting consecutive wins at Elland Road, so they should go into Saturday’s game with confidence – QPR have picked up just one point from their last two games.

Victory for Leeds could see them end the weekend top of the Championship if results go their way.
