Leeds United boss Simon Grayson is still assessing the fitness of defender Andy O`Brien but refuses to rule him out of a return on Tuesday night at Hull City.
O`Brien suffered a hamstring injury in the FA Cup replay against Arsenal ten days ago and was forced to miss the weekend trip to Portsmouth.
Leeds will have had a ten-day break between games by the time the Hull game comes around and despite O`Brien still not returning to training, Grayson is still not ruling him out of the game at the KC Stadium.
Speaking on the official website, Grayson said, “We have a few days yet before the Hull game and we will see how things go.”
O`Brien has been a calming influence on the defence since his initial switch from Bolton on loan towards the end of November.
Despite his influence, Grayson will not risk the experienced defender if he is not fully fit to return to the side, “Andy hasn`t trained yet and it`s like we always say if there`s any doubt he won`t play
” He`s coming along nicely, but you have to be careful with a hamstring injury,” he continued.
Leigh Bromby stepped into the side at Portsmouth last week in O`Brien`s absence as the team battled to a 2-2 draw.
Leeds also have Neil Collins available and Richard Naylor is now back in the reckoning after returning to full fitness recently.
