You thought there was just one club in the hunt didn’t you?
Well looks like the race to sign Kalvin Phillips has just got itself a new competitor. David Anderson of The Mirror is reporting that Tottenham are set to enter the race to sign the 23-year-old, only this time, the bid might actually come close to meeting Leeds’ evaluation of £30m.
The bid could call the Leeds board’s bluff on the matter, and we could be set for an interesting few days and weeks ahead if Spurs follow through with it.
Having found yesterday’s news over Aston Villa’s surprisingly low bid for Phillips so hilarious, Leeds fans weren’t in such a laughing mood today.
Rather it seemed that the majority of Leeds fans were almost accepting that this move could be a possibility. They took to Twitter and decided to take a more rational view of things. It came across that fans thought it was the kind of move that would benefit both clubs. Spurs get someone who Leeds fans think could be a potential England player one day, and Leeds get a very huge haul to try and improve their squad, everyone’s a winner.
I was saying the other day about KP maybe thinking about the EUROS next summer it’s definitely a position England struggle at without Henderson probably have to be playing Prem to have a chance of that he’ll have ambitions

also , this time last year we would have been happy with 5m for phillips. Just shows what MB has done to one, her can do to another.

I think this is more realistic him asking to go then going to villa. Good all round Business, if he go

Let me guess – £30m Upfront + add ons and Leeds loan him back for the season?

Well, if Jack is Worth 9M, Kalvin is worth 30M. Would prefer Kalvin stayed, but 30M (even 25M) is a lot of money… I’m not that concerned for our promotion chances if Kalvin should go. Bielsa’s team will be up there anyway⚽️MOT.

Not when they’ve just spent all that money on defensive midfielder Ndombele they won be.
