Leeds United began celebrated 99 years of life yesterday and former favourite players stepped up admirably for our official birthday as we build towards the big 100.
Following our inception in 1919, a number of former stars sent in videos to mark the occasions and they were joined by Elland Road related celebrities and simply put, the club deserves great credit for the way they organised the marking of the occasion.

As do the many numbers of fans who took part in sending their own messages as they interacted and responded to the social media team.
For this piece though as I know I’m playing catch up as I was unfortunately otherwise engaged (out, it happens occasionally) I’ll recap my favourite player interviews – the remainder are on the clubs’ official Twitter feed – click here – for those fans who may have similarly missed it.

If this is how we are doing 99, I can only imagine the plans in place to celebrate the big 100.
I can’t be the only one hoping the stars align under manager Marcelo Bielsa and our current crop of players and we celebrate it back in the top-flight…what more motivation does anyone need?
