Leeds United and Hereford lock horns once more as a 0-0 draw last time round brings a replay upon us, with Hereford looking to cause yet another upset.

Vital Quotes:

Leeds United assistant manager Dave Bassett loves the FA Cup, and feels that a good cup run could be beneficial to the club.

Speaking to the official website, Leedsunited.com he said: ‘The FA Cup means a lot to me,’

‘Unfortunately I never got to Wembley, but I got to the semi-final a couple of times, and we are a big club who wants to progress.

‘The league is our main focus, but we still want to do well in the FA Cup. We’d like to do well on both fronts and we want to beat Hereford.’

On the flip side, the official Hereford United website has an interview with none other than club physio Wayne Jones who gave his view on the replay: ‘Obviously we’d have preferred to not be going up to Elland Road at all.

‘But a draw was a good result for us at Edgar Street, we played very well and gave a good account of ourselves.

‘I thought we more than deserved the draw so I can’t see any reason why we cant go up there and get a win – that is our aim.’

Well if the physio says so, it must be true!

Leeds United Team News:

Jonathan Douglas may make a return for Leeds United as Dennis Wise looks towards fielding a stronger side to get the job done in the 1st round replay.

Radostin Kishishev and Alan Thompson are also looking to return to 1st team action, so the manager has to make his mind up for the central midfield roles.

Leon Constantine looks set ot start again given the nature of the tie. The choice of goalkeeper however is anyones guess.

Player to watch: The Leeds United Team!

Leeds need to dispatch Hereford quickly, and with very little fuss.

Expect a performance for each and every player to pull on the white shirt this evening.

Hereford United Team News:

BBC report that Hereford United have a largely worry-free selection issue this week, as only Karl Broadhurst is a late absence from the squad.

Player to watch: Wayne Brown

A clean sheet against higher league opposition, goalkeeper Wayne Brown may just be the difference between the two sides.

Useless Facts:

  • Hereford United have regularly paraded a Herefordshire Bull before fixtures, apart from when foot and mouth restrictions meant their mascot couldn’t appear.

  • Hereford regained their league status following a conference playoff final victory against Halifax Town at the Walkers Stadium, Leicester.

  • Hereford is home to the National School of Blacksmithing, and the Special Air Service (SAS).

  • The town is twinned with Dillenburg in mid-Western Germany.

  • Dillenburg is home to absaloutely nothing of interesting to the average British visitor.
