Vital Leeds United catches up with all the latest news!

The past few days have been somewhat hectic in terms of a personal life; however I endeavour to catch up as we dive through the latest news from Elland Road.

Starting with some great news for the future of the club, regardless of its final League One position is that combative midfielder David Prutton has agreed to a new one and a half year deal.

Prutton originally joined the club in the summer on a one-year contract, however a series of impressive performances at the heart of the Leeds engine room and reaching the magic 15 games mark automatically means that the former Southampton and Nottingham Forest midfielder was eligible for a new deal. The 26-year-old will be celebrating his new contract in the players lounge on Tuesday, as he is suspended for Leeds’ FA Cup replay against Hereford United.

Another player staying on at Elland Road is loanee Radostin Kishishev who has extended his loan deal until the 23rd of January. The midfield man was expected to return to crisp munching Leicester City next week, however despite recent injury he now appears set to stay at the club for the foreseeable future.

Kish made his first appearance in a Leeds shirt following this seasons return on loan as a second half substitute in the 2-1 win against Swindon Town, now the Bulgarian international has hinted towards a white future, not just for Christmas!

‘I’m happy to stay on, and who knows after that, maybe I’ll be able to stay longer,’ Kishishev told leedsunited.com

‘It was sad that I got injured before I started playing and before my loan finished I would have played just 30 minutes, but for the next two months I’ll try and be in my best shape and stay free of injury.’

It’s a case of two stay, one departs for the midfield as Shaun Derry leaves the club for Crystal Palace in a two-month deal. Derry made 83 appearances for the London-based side between 2002 and 2005 and it appears that despite our shortage of fully fit midfield men, his future at Leeds has already been decided. Leeds boss Dennis Wise has suggested that it is a case of gaining match fitness for Shaun, who must be wondering what to do next as he starts his loan deal.
