Leeds United and Luton Town have agreed a £700,000 fee for midfielder Kevin Nicholls.

The 27-year-old was subject to an earlier joint bid by Leeds involving striker Steve Howard, however this bid was rejected and Howard subsequently moved to Derby County after the Rams had a £1m bid accepted by Luton.

Nicholls will undergo a medical and discuss terms at Elland Road and is expected to sign before the end of the week.

Nicholls, who made nearly 200 appearances for Luton, scoring 33 goals, also had spells at Wigan, Brighton (loan) and Charlton.
