I wonder if we can get the whole of the backline one of these awards each before the end of the season?
Obviously there’d need to be some luck involved in regards to who gets nominated, but seeing as we’ve now got two of them in the bag, we’re well on the way to making it happen. Luke Ayling has won the PFA Player of the Month award for December, following in the footsteps of his fellow defender Ben White who took home the gong for his performances in August.
The defender had a near faultless display over the month, as he played a part in Leeds keeping two clean sheets against Huddersfield Town and Hull City, but his best display came in the game against Birmingham City. The 28-year-old set up two goals and even managed to get on the scoresheet himself during the 5-4 thriller at St Andrew’s.
And Leeds United fans were more than happy to share in the celebrations as he picked up his award, taking to social media to congratulate him.
Quality player is Luke & well deserved.. 💕 the passion Luke displayed on his goals.. He’s Leeds & he’s proud of it…

Does Ayling deserve to be our full-time captain?
Yes, he's proven himself
No, it's still Cooper's
Two down, two to go. Well, three if you include the goalkeeper as well.
