When the summer transfer window eventually starts, we will need to bring new faces to Elland Road in order to compete in the Premier League or finally get the club over the final hurdle in the Championship.

We will also have to wave goodbye to some of those currently on the club’s books, but one that will not be a great loss is already talking to outfits elsewhere in the hopes of securing his next adventure.

That man being Caleb Ekuban, with Fanatik claiming the Ghanaian and his entourage discussed his long-term future with Trabzonspor ahead of their clash with Antalyaspor at the weekend, where he stated that he wants to continue his career at the Medical Park Stadium.

There had been reports that the Super Lig side would use their €1million (£860k) option to buy to then sell him on for profit, with unnamed Italian outfits supposedly open to paying €10m (£8.6m) for the 5 ft 9 attacker.

How Ekuban’s stance plays into those matters remains to be seen, but what Trabzonspor are now expected to do is begin discussions with the Whites over the activation of their option to buy.

Fanatik claim that this is “sure to take place” following the discussions between the Turkish outfit and Ekuban, who followed his meeting with the Black Sea Storm by netting his fifth goal of the Super Lig season in a 4-1 win.
