Midfield area needs strengthening most – Grayson

Leeds United boss Simon Grayson admits that the midfield is the main area that Leeds need to strengthen over the summer.

Two of last seasons regulars, Neil Kilkenny and Bradley Johnson have recently left the club after coming to the end of their contracts, leaving Leeds light in midfield.

Speaking in the Yorkshire Evening Post , Grayson said, “You can`t disguise that losing Kilkenny and Johnson has left us short in the middle of the park. The centre of midfield is probably the main area that we need to look at.”

Midfielders Adam Clayton and Ramon Nunez will be hoping to make an impression on the first team this season after making just a handful of substitute appearances between them last season.

The pair spent time out on loan. Clayton spent a large majority of the season on loan at Peterborough United and MK Dons whilst Nunez had a successful spell at Scunthorpe United towards the end of the season.

Leeds have currently brought just one player into the club over the summer, goalkeeper Paul Rachubka from Blackpool.

Rachubka is currently the only senior goalkeeper on the books at Elland Road.
