“Brilliant”, “Phwoar” – So many Leeds fans react to club tweet

Loads of Leeds United fans have been reacting on social media after the club announced that Mark Jackson’s Under 18s will face Manchester United in the Fifth Round of the FA Youth Cup.

Jackson’s junior Whites side booked their place in the next round of the junior tournament with a dramatic penalty shoot-out victory over Sheffield Wednesday earlier this month.

United had fallen behind inside the first minute of the second half before Jack Jenkins would net the equaliser, which sent the tie into extra time.

An own goal from Luke Cox then put the club ahead, but the Owls’ skilful attacker Basile Zottos would strike in the 104th-minute to send the game to penalties.

Cooper Skerry set the tone from the off in the shoot-out by denying Lewis Farmer, and we would go on to win 5-4 on penalties with Henri Kumwenda converting the decisive kick.

Will we face Manchester Utd in the Premier League next season?

Yes

No

Jackson and his side were made to wait to learn who we would be facing in the Fifth Round after being drawn against the winner of Manchester United and Norwich City, though goals from Charlie McCann and Teden Mengi sealed a 2-0 win for Neil Ryan’s Red Devils on Tuesday night.

The date and venue for the Fifth Round tie are still yet to be announced, although United have been drawn as the visiting side for the FA Youth Cup affair.
