Manchester City loanee Jack Harrison got his full senior debut for Leeds United in Tuesday’s EFL Cup clash with Bolton Wanderers.
First-half goals at Elland Road from Patrick Bamford and Samu Saiz gave us a 2-1 victory on the evening as we booked our place in the Second Round draw, and there were plenty of positives to take from the match as the club made it three wins from three at the start of the 2018/19 campaign.
One of those positives was Harrison’s full debut after his previous cameo in the Championship in our opening day victory over Stoke City, but the 21-year-old’s showing in this one certainly got tongues wagging in the fan base given his performance on the wing.
@jamieshackk and harrison have been amazing so far…Saiz is a machine as always! Impressed so far #lufc #mot

With Ezgjan Alioski starting the season in fine fashion, Harrison’s performance will give manager Marcelo Bielsa a nice question to ask himself when it comes to competition for the wide positions as he showed he can be relied upon and perform when given the nod.
It should certainly help each of them push themselves further if they want to keep the shirt.
With eight changes overall, I imagine few of them didn’t impress and please the gaffer though given the overall performance as we look like we have decent depth with players all knowing their jobs on the pitch.
