Manager comments open door for Leeds to seal player exit

|

As quoted by the Blackpool Gazette, manager Joey Barton has said that he would like to keep Lewie Coyle at the club past the end of this season.

The right-back went out on loan to the Cod Army at the start of the campaign and has done well, though it seems unlikely that they will make the play-offs now.

Even so, he has got good minutes and it remains to be seen if we can actually assure him of getting game time next year.

Luke Ayling is in the side, of course, and you get the feeling we might well look to add rather than bring Coyle back into the team and get him challenging.

In many ways, then, Barton’s comments should encourage Leeds to let him go and let him play football and get his future sorted.

Keep sending him out on loan will get tiring and he’ll want to know where he is, this is the perfect time to clear it up.
