Leeds United boss Gary McAllister was left feeling ‘bitterly disappointed’ as a late Luke Rodgers strike snatched a draw for League One basement side Port Vale on Saturday.

A fascinating game saw Leeds take a 2 goal lead through Rui Marques and a first Leeds goal for loan-striker Dougie Freedman, however a controversial penalty and a Whitaker strike pegged United back. Freedman got his second of the game just 4 minutes from time before Rodgers popped up to rescue a point for the League Two bound side.

As anyone would expect, McAllister wasn’t best pleased as he very much told Leedsunited.com:

“It’s disappointing; to score three goals and not go home with three points isn’t good.

“It was disappointing. I can’t hide the fact that I wanted nine points last week and we got four.

“At 2-0 up we have things under control, we’d got our noses in front and the game was there for us.”
