Leeds were bang in form and sitting top of the Championship when the suspension of the football season kicked in, and in fact we were arguably playing some of the best football we have seen all year.
Not only were we deadly in attack but we had also gone on a run of five matches without conceding a goal, showing brilliant character to overcome the loss of form that occurred in the early part of 2020.
We started the year with just one win in eight games, a stretch of results that threatened our position in the automatic places, yet now we sit seven points clear.

The official club Twitter feed yesterday posted highlights of our convincing win over Huddersfield, and Andrea Radrizzani responded to the club saying “I miss you”.
He is not alone in that given how entertaining we are, and Luke Ayling reacted to the owner’s remark, with the right-back of course scoring an absolutely brilliant volley in the win against the Terriers.

It seems the 28-year-old is still in good spirits and riding high off of the back of that strike, and rightly so given he will perhaps never replicate such an effort.
Maintaining morale in this unprecedented period is essential if we are to continue where we left off – let’s hope we at least get a chance to do so.
