Leeds United manager Neil Warnock says he would like to see visiting supporters back in the South East corner or cheese wedge as it is more commonly known.

Away fans were moved to the East Stand earlier this season because at the time former boss Simon Grayson had stated he wanted Leeds fans behind both goals.

Warnock speaking on Yorkshire Radio says he does not like them where they currently are but he has been told there are a number of safety issues that could block a move back into the cheese wedge.

Speaking on Yorkshire Radio, Warnock said, “I don`t like them where they are and I have made my point clear to the people. I love it when they are on the far side, I cannot hear them chanting my name then.

“I think there are some safety issues about getting them straight out of the ground and the Police, and one or two issues with it so it is not straightforward.

“I haven`t got all the facts but I have said what I have said to the people higher up and their answer was it is not straightforward. I would like to see them back over the far side of the ground but whether it will change I do not know.”

Portsmouth supporters at the start of October were the first to be located in the West Stand and since the move; it has certainly affected the atmosphere inside Elland Road.

The move also saw the ticket prices for visiting fans raised to £36 for a category A game, with many away supporters deciding to boycott their game at Elland Road rather than pay this price.

The away supporters have also complained about their handling inside the ground with what they call heavy-handed stewarding and Police.
