*On This day in 2000, Leeds booked their place in the UEFA Cup quarter-finals as they beat Italian side AS Roma 1-0 at Elland Road to progress after drawing the first leg 0-0 in Rome. Harry Kewell scored the only goal of the game for Leeds. Roma ended the game with nine-men after Antonio Zago and Candela were sent off in the final minute.
