Leeds United attacking midfielder Ramon Nunez was delighted to commit his future to the club after signing a new deal, keeping him at Elland Road until at least 2015.

Nunez joined Leeds last season on a short-term deal and despite only making two substitute appearances; he signed a one-year contract at the end of last season after enjoying a successful loan spell at Scunthorpe United.

Leeds have also taken up the option of an extra year and Nunez is delighted to be staying with the club that gave him an opportunity.

Speaking on the official website, Nunez said, “I`m delighted. Leeds is the club that gave me an opportunity and I`m happy here.
“It`s all about concentrating on my football and working hard to get into the team.
“Obviously getting in the Premier League is the goal of everybody here. We certainly have enough good players to do that.”

The Honduras international made his first start for the club in the Carling Cup tie with Bradford City in August and he was the hero with two goals as Leeds progressed with a 3-2 victory.

Nunez became a regular in the side during the early stage of the season, scoring five goals in ten appearances but he hasn`t been part of the squad in the last two games.

He is willing to bide his time at Elland Road and he is hoping to grasp the opportunity when it comes his way. “I`ve no doubt that I will get my opportunity and when I do I will look to take it,” continued Nunez.

Nunez was so determined to make his mark at Elland Road this season that he put his international career on hold with Honduras to concentrate on his future with Leeds.
