Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips is now just one yellow card away from an automatic two-match suspension.

Phillips picked up his ninth yellow card of the season in the 1-0 defeat at Ipswich Town on Saturday, a game where he saw his midfield partner Eunan O`Kane shown a straight red card.

Under the totting up system over the season, a player collecting ten yellow cards before the second Sunday in March will serve an automatic two-match suspension. Phillips has already served a one-match suspension for five yellow cards earlier in the season.

With Samu Saiz still to serve five more games of his six-match suspension for his sending off last weekend and O`Kane to start a three-match suspension, Leeds will hope Phillips can avoid a yellow card in the upcoming weeks with Leeds already short of cover in midfield.

Discipline is a problem for Leeds this season and O`Kane`s red card on Saturday was a fifth for a Leeds player this season. Liam Cooper (Cardiff City), Gaetano Berardi (Bristol City), Ronaldo Vieira (Wolverhampton Wanderers) and Samu Saiz (Newport County) have already been suspended this season for a red card.
