Leeds United and Hull City will meet for the twenty first time at Elland Road when the two sides clash on Tuesday night.

In the previous twenty, Leeds have much the better record, winning twelve to Hull`s two and six being drawn.

The first ever clash between the two sides came way back in the 1920/21 season when the sides battled out a 1-1 draw.

They clashed again the following season when Hull recorded one of only two victories with a 2-0 win.

Hull`s only over win at Elland Road came during the 1987/88 season when they also secured a 2-0 win

Leeds best ever win came a few seasons later when they won 5-2.

Many Leeds fans fondly remember the classic game at Elland Road during the 1989/90 season.

John Hendrie and Vinnie Jones had already scored for Leeds but they found themselves 3-2 down with just six minutes remaining.

A goal from Imre Varadi and a superb strike from Gordon Strachan in the final minute secured all three points for Leeds on their way to the Second Division title.

When the two side met last season they shared the points in a 2-2 draw.

Hull took the lead thanks to a long-range strike from John Bostock

Leeds fought back thanks to goals from Bradley Johnson and Andy O`Brien to lead inside the final ten minutes.

Johnson then put through his own net to earn a point for Hull.
