LUFC Leeds United Fan View v Queens Park Rangers

I made the trip to Loftus Road on Saturday to watch Leeds United claim all three points with a 3-1 win at Queens Park Rangers.

I give my view of the performance of the team following the win.

Wiedwald 4
He had little to do until the bizarre goal he conceded in the final minute of the game. He atoned for his error with a good save moments later, but the goal was schoolboy stuff, and we need a keeper we can trust and in Wiedwald and Lonergan, we cannot trust either.

Ayling 6
Fairly untroubled at the back and he was always an outlet going forward.

Cooper 7
Another good solid display.

Jansson 7
Like Cooper, he gave the Rangers strike force nothing.

Berardi 6
Not the player of last season and unlike Ayling, he gives us nothing going forward.

Phillips 7
A good solid performance but another stupid unnecessary booking.

Vieira 7
There is no coincidence that we look much more solid since he returned to the side. He oozes quality.

Saiz 7
He always looks to go at the opposition.

Ekuban 5
He was forced off through injury. It looked innocuous, so he could be out for a while.

Roofe 8 Star Man
I will keep saying it and I have said it since he joined, play a player in his correct position and he looks much better. A quality hat-trick and he owed a lot to two superb crosses for his first and second goals.

Alioski 7
A lovely cross for the first goal.

Subs

Cibicki 5

I thought he offered us nothing but he produced a superb cross for the goal, his only contribution.

O`Kane /b>
He was brought on late on to help strengthen the midfield.

Pennington
Like O`Kane, he was brought on to help strengthen the back line.

Summary
I am not going to get carried away by the win. I thought for an hour it was a dour poor game and only brought to life by two great balls and two great finishes.

Rangers looked a poor side but they were the better side in the first half without ever causing us any problems. We looked better second half and eventually went ahead with our first real opportunity.

I cannot wait for the transfer window to open because if we are going to be serious promotion contenders, we need a goalkeeper, left back and a striker. The bench looks worrying at the moment with four defenders on the bench for this game.
