Leeds United players returned to training today ahead of the new season back in the Championship.

It doesn`t seem like two minutes ago that emotional scenes of celebration were seen around Elland Road as Leeds clinched promotion with that win over Bristol Rovers.

Here we are though with the sun beating down and the World Cup and Wimbledon reaching it`s climax, that we are already casting our minds forward to August 7th, when we welcome Derby County to Elland Road for the first game of the season in front of the live TV cameras.

Leeds United boss Simon Grayson and his backroom team are looking forward to getting the players fit during the next five weeks as they look to be amongst the challengers for promotion.

Speaking on the official website, Grayson said, “The next five and a half weeks will see fitness work, but there`ll be plenty of ball work as well and we looked to make sure we are fully prepared.”

Amongst the first team squad returning to training were the four new recruits during the summer, Kasper Schmeichel, Billy Paynter, Federico Bessone and Paul Connolly all meeting their new teammates.
