Leeds travelled to Peterborough for a lunch time kick off with a chance to go top even if just for a few hours.

The Whites lost David Lucas during the warm up with a broken finger so Casper Ankergren stepped in with Ben Parker taking his place on the bench.

In a fairly even start to the game Luciano Becchio had Leeds first chance when he shot wide.
At the other end Posh top scorer Mackail-Smith had a great chance to put them in front but an excellent save from Casper kept him out.
Leeds were beginning to play their calm passing football and started to take control of the game and Becchio had a couple of good chances whilst top scorer Beckford also shot over when in a good position.

Peterborough were still a threat though and Boyd made Ankergren make a good save. Shortly afterwards Mackail-Smith wasted Peterborough`s best chance of the half when put clean through, Ankergren did well to save it and keep the scores level.

In a very even first half with both teams creating chances the sides went in all square at the break.

Leeds made the worst possible start to the second half when George Boyd scored for Posh after good work down the left from Dominic Green.

Andy Robinson nearly equalised straight away when his 20 yard effort just went wide of the post with the keeper beaten.
Douglas had Leeds next effort but put wide with Peterborough happy to let Leeds shoot from distance.

Leeds made a couple of changes, first Snodgrass replaced Howson and then shortly afterwards Kilkenny replaced Delph as Leeds chased an equaliser.

Kilkenny had an early chance but his shot was saved by Lewis.

Peterborough were still creating chances and Boyd headed straight at Ankergren when in a good position.
Shaun Batt then had a good chance but the recalled Ankergren once again denied Peterborough.

Leeds then thought they had equalised when Becchio tapped in after an effort from Kilkenny but the flag was up for offside.

With the fourth official showing four minutes of added time Leeds thought they could still get a point. That was soon to be dismissed when Craig Mackail-Smith wrapped up the game for the home side.

A disappointing result after such a good run of results, hopefully this will just be a blip and Leeds can bounce back against Brighton next Saturday.
