Leeds United have accepted a bid for goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel from fellow championship side Leicester City.

The official website have announced the news that they have accepted an undisclosed bid and Leeds boss Simon Grayson says “He feels it`s the right deal for the club”.

Schmeichel joined Leeds on a free transfer from Notts County last summer and he made fourty appearances in his first full season at Elland Road.

Leeds have taken the decision to accept the bid in the best interest of Leeds United, after they revealed that it was very unlikely that Schmeichel would sign a new deal with the club.

Leeds have already released Shane Higgs from the club this summer and currently have no keeper at the club with first team experience.

They have been linked with a move for Coventry City goalkeeper Kieran Westwood after the Yorkshire Post revealed last week that the club had been involved in tentative talks with the out of contract goalkeeper.
