Leeds United striker Pierre-Michel Lasogga says the side must start winning games if they are to reach the play-offs this season.

Leeds are still looking for their first win of 2018 when they welcome Bristol City to Elland Road this afternoon.

The whites, who occupied a play-off place over the festive period, haven`t won since Boxing Day and they are now in mid table, eight points off a play-off place with just 15 games remaining.

Leeds face Bristol City today, who occupy the final play-off place, and they know a win would cut the gap to just five points but a defeat would mean an eleven point gap, almost certainly ending their hopes of entering the end of season lottery that is the play-offs.

“We have to start getting some victories now though, because just playing good is not enough,” Lasogga told the Leeds United official website.

“At Ashton Gate, it was not an easy game, the wind played a big part, but we started very well and scored after five minutes.

“We need to play like this again, we were all very confident and enjoyed the match, we played our game and we have to do that again on Sunday.”

“To get into the Play-Off places we have to win the next games, Sunday is a very important game against Bristol City to close the gap.

“I hope we can win this game, so that we can get closer to the Play-off spots.”

Lasogga has recently returned to the starting eleven after a spell on the sidelines and he has netted three times in the last four games, including one in new head coach Paul Heckingbottom`s first game in charge at Sheffield United last weekend.

The on loan SV Hamburg striker has now netted eight times for Leeds in 14 starts in the Championship and he will hope for another goal against Bristol City having netted in the 3-0 win at Ashton Gate in October.
