Leeds United boss Simon Grayson still hasn`t ruled Neil Kilkenny out of next weeks opener despite him yet to play in pre season.

Midfielder Kilkenny originally injured his ankle in last seasons play off semi final defeat against Millwall but was back for the start of pre season training.

However on the verge of the first pre season game at York City he suffered a reoccurrence of the injury and hasn`t been involved since.

The Australian international is close to being back to first team action and Simon Grayson still believes he could be ready for the opening day next Saturday against Exeter City, speaking in the YEP Grayson said ‘He won’t have had any pre-season games but he’s worked hard in rehab’ with our physios.
He shouldn’t be too far away, just a little bit short.’

Definitely expected still to be out is club captain Richard Naylor who is still recovering from his back surgery earlier in the summer.
