Leeds United head coach Paul Heckingbottom says pride is at stake when they welcome Sheffield Wednesday to Elland Road today.

Heckingbottom is now planning for next season with the play-offs now looking out of reach.

The former Barnsley boss has enjoyed just one win in seven games since his arrival at Elland Road and the Yorkshireman knows what is at stake in a Yorkshire derby.

“There`s pride at stake, bragging rights, Wednesday fighting for points,” Heckingbottom told the Yorkshire Evening Post.

“We want the points, we`re desperate for the points but so are Sheffield Wednesday for a different reason so it adds an extra edge to the game, definitely.”

Heckingbottom will pick from the same squad that drew at Reading last weekend with Liam Cooper and Kemar Roofe still sidelined through injury.

Youngster Bailey Peacock-Farrell is expected to continue in goal after impressing in his two games despite conceding five times.

Ronaldo Vieira and Kalvin Phillips are both pushing for a start in midfield after being named amongst the subs last weekend. Striker Pierre-Michel Lasogga will also hope for a return to the starting line-up after coming on as a late substitute at Reading.

Despite there being little to play for apart from local bragging rights, over 31,000 tickets have been sold for the clash.
