Simon Grayson refuses to get carried away despite Leeds good form in pre season.

The Whites put in an excellent performance against Premiership Blackburn Rovers on Saturday and were unlucky to only draw when their Lancastrian opponents equalised from the penalty spot in the last minute.

Speaking on the official website Grayson said “I`m not getting carried away, but hopefully it`s a sign of what we can achieve”.

The Whites travel to Newcastle this evening before finishing off their pre season campaign at new Premiership side Burnley on Saturday.

Grayson isn`t too worried about results but more about performance has his side get ready for the long hard slog of a football season.

Grayson who took over from Gary McAllister in December last year saw his new sides form improve dramatically in the second half of the season, they lost only one of their last fourteen games and that was a last minute winner at Champions Leicester City.

Unfortunately Leeds lost in the Play offs for the second season in a row but he is eager for his side to hit the ground running when the new season starts, continuing on the official site he said “It`s about fine tuning now, quickening them up and getting them prepared for what we hope will be a successful season”.

The Whites will be taking an almost fully fit squad up to St James Park this evening. Casper Ankergren returns after injury, only Neil Kilkenny and Richard Naylor are likely to be missing.

Leeds are also sending a team to Forest Green Rovers this evening.
