Huntersboots is giving us his take on the Leeds player`s performance in the 1-1 home draw with Brentford.

Casper 6
A great stop early on from a one on one but otherwise had little to do.

Hughes 8.
Some fantastic tackles to stop Weston, sealed the channel and never put a foot wrong, good link play with Snodgrass until he went off feeling ill.

Bromby 5
Again not a lot to do, competent in his play and was comfortable until he was switched to full back. He is not a full back and was partly at fault not challenging for the header that led to Brentford`s goal.

Kisnorbo 7
Marshalled the defence with his usual vocal authority, solid polished performance from the iconic centre back.

White 6
Couldn`t show much defensive qualities as Brentford offered very little to challenge him. Not as assured going forward as usual and tried to beat the last man twice when he should have put a cross in on a couple of occasions. Linked very well with McSheffrey.

Snodgrass 7
Worked hard for 75% of the game and showed great skill and vision. Tracked back tirelessly to help in his midfield defensive duties and effortlessly breached Brentford’s defence at the other end. The only black spot on his game was yet again some poor crossing.

Doyle 6.
Tireless display from the no nonsense midfielder in the centre of the park, and some good distribution after winning the ball. It is easy to overlook the workload Doyle contributes in a game; a little more input in the last third would have seen his score move up one.

Howson 5
As is almost commonplace, Howson drifted in and out of the game with little overall effect on it. While Doyle’s duties are to break up play his midfield partner Howson should have been the engine room creator, sadly he was woefully lacking in that department.

McSheffrey 7
He finally arrived in this game. A subdued first half keeps his score down but a much improved second half performance. Some excellent wing play and perfectly weighted crosses showed the Premiership man has talent beyond this league. He created the goal and always looked dangerous.

Beckford 4
Scored the goal but if he had to rely on his own work to create a goal he would have drawn a blank. A very poor striker`s performance, poor shooting, woeful heading, lack of effort and lack of guile. Holt or Lambert would have had a bagful on Beckford`s chances.

Becchio 6.
Battled bravely as usual with the opposition defence, held the ball up and won some good knock downs, trouble is the two ‘B’s are often 20 yards apart ,so his knockdowns are wasted. Never really looked like scoring in this game. Sacrificed for Dickov in last 15 minutes or so.

Subs:

Dickov 4

not much time to make any kind of impact.

Johnson 5
Again little time to shine.

Lubo 4
Some silly defensive clearances and was the main culprit for their goal. Had he challenged his man and won the header from the corner they would not have scored.

Overall
A strange game this one. We created enough chances to have won two games but could not convert. We need to get the ball on the ground, it was like head tennis and scrappy for much of the game.

Brentford were very poor and we should have buried these at Elland Road. Conceding a soft goal never helps but we should have enough firepower to nullify a goal against.
It is looking worrying up front, Beckford’s mind seems to be on the Tyne and Becchio is never going to be prolific.
A single goal against for us at the moment is lethal because we can’t score like the other top six teams. We can’t go on blaming midfield, they provided the ammo yesterday, trouble is it turned out to be blanks.

Thanks for your thought`s Hunters.
