History

The two clubs paths have only ever crossed on four occasions in their long histories.

In those previous four meetings, Leeds have won two, Exeter one and one draw.

When the two sides met at Elland Road on the opening day of the season it was the first time they had ever met in the league with the previous three meetings all being in the FA Cup.

Prior to the league game this season the last time they met was in 1931 when Exeter won an FA Cup tie 3-1 at home.

In the two previous meetings at St James Park, Exeter have won one and drawn one.

When they met on the opening day of this season, Leeds claimed all three points thanks to two goals from Jermaine Beckford.

Beckford gave Leeds the lead inside fifteen minutes. Exeter equalised thanks to a wonderful free kick from Russell, this was despite being down to ten men after Barry Corr was shown a straight red card on the hour mark.

Beckford claimed all three points in the closing minutes for Leeds when he was allowed to head into an empty net with the Exeter keeper, Jones rooted to the spot.
