EFL clubs have agreed in principal to introduce goal-line technology in the Championship from the beginning of next season.

Championship clubs met today (February 16th) to discuss the proposal of following the Premier League in the introduction of goal-line technology and further discussions will be held before being presented at the EFL AGM in June in order for the regulations to be amended.

Hawk-eye technology has been successfully used in the Premier League since the start of the 2013/14 season. A decision on whether the ball has crossed the line or not is quickly transmitted to the on field referee via a watch on his wrist.

The technology is already in use in the Football League Play-off finals as well as the latter stages of the EFL Cup.
