Leeds United head coach Garry Monk says the players on nine yellow cards are aware of the situation and they need to avoid picking up a silly or needless booking.

Defenders Luke Ayling and Kyle Bartley are now on nine yellow cards and they must avoid a further booking before the second Sunday in March to avoid a two-match suspension.

Leeds have five Championship fixtures before the cut-off date and Monk says he doesn`t want the players to change the way they approach the game.

“The players close to suspensions know the situation, you don`t want to say anything to change their game, they have to stay fully focused and committed,” Monk told the Leeds official website.

“What they have to do is avoid is silly and needless bookings, ones for like dissent and kicking the ball away, but for those on nine yellow cards it hasn`t been a problem with them.”

Fellow defender Pontus Jansson, who has already serve a one and two-match suspension under the totting up system this season, is now on 12 yellow cards and he must avoid three more bookings between now and the end of the season or face a three-match suspension.
